2008 All-Star Game
The 2008 All-Star Game of Major League Baseball was the 79th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the
American League and National League. The game was played on July 15th, 2008 at Yankee Stadium in New York, NY, home of the
American Leagues New York Yankees. The game was won by the American League 4-3.
Michael Young's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 15th inning scored Justin Morneau with the winning run in the AL's 4-3
victory at Yankee Stadium. The 15 innings tied the 1967 Midsummer Classic for the most total frames, and the 4-hour, 50-minute
affair stands as the longest game in All-Star history.
J. D. Drew of the Boston Red Sox was named 2008 All-Star Game Most Valuable Player due to his two-run game-tying home run in the seventh inning.
