1996 All-Star Game Program

The 1996 All Star Game was the 67th midseason exhibition between the all-stars of the American League and the National League. The game was played on July 9th, 1996 at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, Pa. home of the Philadelphia Phillies of the National League. The game resulted in a 6-0 victory for the National League.

Neither pitching staff allowed a single walk during the entire game! Despite the lack of walks, the American League had no problem giving up runs. Once again Mike Piazza was at his best, driving in two runs with a homer and double. He became the first player to homer in consecutive All-Star Games since Fred Lynn in 1979-80. Combined with his homer in his last at-bat in the 1995, he also became the first to homer in consecutive All-Star at-bats since Gary Carter in 1981.

The MVP of the 1996 all-star game was Mike Piazza of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
