1989 All-Star Game Program

The 1989 All-Star Game of Major League Baseball was the 60th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the American League and National League. The game was held in Anaheim, Ca. at Anaheim Stadium, home of the American Leagues California Angels. The game was won by the American League 5-3.

Bo Jackson led off the bottom of the first with a moon shot to center field in his first All-Star Game at-bat and Wade Boggs followed with his own shot, to lead the American League to back-to-back wins for the first time since 1957-58.

Nolan Ryan, at 42, the oldest player on either side, but the two shutout innings that he throws help him become the oldest pitcher to ever win a Midsummer Classic.

The MVP of the game was Bo Jackson.
