1987 All-Star Game Program

The 1987 All-Star Game of Major League Baseball was the 58th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the American League and National League. The game was held in Oakland, Ca. at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, home of the American Leagues Oakland Athletics. The game was won by the National League 2-0.

The '87 All-Star Game represented great pitching. Never in history had an All Star game gone beyond five innings without a run. This year no one would score until the thirteenth!

Ozzie Virgil singled to center. Lee Smith struck out trying to bunt and Hubie Brooks singled Virgil to second. Willie McGee flied out and Tim Raines drilled his third hit of the game, a two-run triple to left-center.

The MVP of the game was Tim Raines.
