1967 All-Star Game Media Guide

The 1967 All-Star Game of Major League Baseball was the 38th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the American League and National League. The game was held in Anaheim, California, at Anaheim Stadium, home of the American Leagues California Angels. The game was won by the National League 2-1.

Once again pitching dominated as the All-Stars faced off in Anaheim Stadium. The two teams' pitchers accounted for 30 strikeouts, easily the most in any All-Star Game (before or since).

All of the runs, and there were only three, were scored via the long ball. The NL took an early 1-0 lead when the Phils' Dick Allen took Dean Chance deep to left in the second inning. Baltimore's Brooks Robinson got the AL even in the bottom of the sixth off Fergie Jenkins, driving the ball into the seats to tie the game at 1-1. The game stayed even at 1 until the top of the 15th inning, when the A's Jim "Catfish" Hunter gave up a game winning HR to Tony Perez of the Reds.

The 1967 All-Star Game MVP was Tony Perez of the Cincinnati Reds.
