1965 All-Star Game
The 1965 All-Star Game of Major League Baseball was the 36th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the
American League and National League. The game was held in Bloomington, Minn, at Metropolitan Stadium, home of the
American Leagues Minnesota Twins. The game was won by the National League 6-5.
With Juan Marichal facing the minimum of nine batters over the first three innings, the National
League breezed to an early 5-0 lead. But the American League stormed back to tie things up on a
pair of two-run shots by Dick McAuliffe and Harmon Killebrew. The National League broke the
deadlock in the seventh when Willie Mays scored on a Ron Santo infield hit.
The 1965 All-Star Game MVP was
Juan Marichal(NL) of the San Francisco Giants.
