1956 All-Star Game
The 1956 All-Star Game was the 23rd playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of
the American League and National League. The game was held on July 10, 1956, at Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C.
the home of the Washington Senators of the American League. The game resulted in the National League defeating the American
League 7-3.
The longball came from the four big names
Willie Mays,
Ted Williams,
Mickey Mantle,
Stan Musial.
Yogi Berra, Ted Klusewski, Johnny Temple, Roy McMillan and Fox each collected two hits. And it was generally agreed that St. Louis third baseman Ken Boyer was the player of the game with three hits and three dazzling defensive plays, although an All-Star MVP was not awarded until 1962.
